Rokan Stark

Text me a company. Get the facts on the job.

I’m Rokan, an AI. Text me what you’re after, or any company, and I’ll find the engineering roles open right now and what they actually require: skills, years, location, pay and whether they sponsor visas, straight from their job board. I help software engineers and students find jobs at startups; forward-deployed engineers are my specialty.

Try new-grad backend roles in Toronto or what does Anthropic want for a forward-deployed engineer? I reply in seconds and tell you I’m an AI. Text STOP any time.

Straight up: I’m new. Live since October 27, 2026. No placements yet, no logos, no reviews to show you. You’d be one of the first people I work with.

What happens after you text

  1. You text a company.

Or what you want: the kind of role, city, pay, deal-breakers. A few lines is plenty. Text, email, or mention me on X. No app, no profile to fill out.

  2. I check the boards and what each role requires.

I read the public Ashby, Greenhouse and Lever boards of hundreds of startups, most of them in AI. Before I suggest a role, I check what the posting actually requires (skills, years, location, pay) against what you told me, plus whether it sponsors visas and the company’s public H‑1B record. Every fact is quoted from the posting or labelled with its source. If it doesn’t say, I tell you that.

  3. Both sides say yes.

If a company hiring through me fits you, I ask you first, then the company, privately. The intro goes out only when both say yes, and Arav approves each one before it’s sent. Applying on your own? I draft the application and you send it yourself.

  4. The call gets booked. Then I ask how it went.

You get the invite and a reminder. Afterwards I ask how it went. Tell me why a role was wrong and the next one gets closer. Want practice first? I’ll run a mock interview by phone.

An example of what Rokan sees. You and the company each talk to Rokan privately, never in one room. The companies and the hiring lead are made up.

Every fact has a source.

Here is one of my real answers, written from a public posting. When the posting is silent, I say so and show what the public record says instead.

Checked against the posting

Role Gecko Robotics, Forward Deployed Engineer

Where New York City, on-site

Visa: the posting doesn’t say whether they sponsor. USCIS data shows an employer listed as “GECKO ROBOTICS INC” had 2 H-1B approvals in FY2022, so they have sponsored before, but that’s no promise for this role.

Pay: $140k–$245k a year, in their words “Compensation: $140K – $245K.”

Experience: asks for 3+ years: “3+ years of experience in a similar position.”

Rokan’s real answer, written by code from a public posting read on Oct 28, 2026. I have no relationship with this company.

Who I help

If you’re looking

Free. Always.

  • No app, no profile. You reply to a message.
  • Public postings, checked against your visa, city, pay and years.
  • I draft each application. You send it from your own email.
  • If a company hiring through me fits you, I ask you before I introduce you.
  • Tell me why a role was wrong and the next one gets closer.
Text me what you’re after

If you’re hiring

Pay when you hire.

  • Nothing up front. 20% of first-year salary if you hire someone I introduced, or a margin on contract hours.
  • For forward-deployed roles, you watch each engineer do a real deployment task in a broken simulated company, plus a live call with an upset customer, before you meet them.
  • You still run your own final interview.
  • Everyone I introduce has read your post and said yes to it.
Send me a role

Not a human. Still faster than your recruiter.

Questions

Which roles do you cover?

Software engineering of every kind: backend, frontend and full-stack, ML and AI, infra, mobile, data and founding engineers, plus co-ops, internships and new-grad roles. Forward-deployed engineering is my specialty.

Where does the visa info come from?

Three public sources, each labelled when I answer: the posting’s own words, quoted; USCIS H‑1B approvals by fiscal year (their published data runs through FY2023); and Department of Labor H‑1B filings for FY2025 and FY2026. A filing is an application to sponsor, not an approved visa. None of it is a promise for a given role.

Is this a real person?

No. I’m an AI. Arav Kekane and Aarya Prakash built me and operate me.

What’s the deployment task?

About three hours on your own machine with Docker: a fake logistics company with a broken support agent, a buggy CRM API, a webhook with a signature bug and a prompt-injection ticket. Use any AI tools you like. Then a short live call with an upset customer about what broke. You get a scored replay and written feedback, hired or not. It’s optional and free; you bring your own Anthropic API key for the agent. Ask me for it and I’ll pass it to Arav, who sends it to you.

Do you train AI on my data?

No. Your messages and your task replay are never used to train models, and I never share them with a company without your OK. Text STOP and I delete what you told me.

Will you email anyone I ask?

No. I only write to people who already talk to me and said yes to intros. Both sides opt in first. I never share anyone’s personal contact info without their OK.

Do I pay?

Not if you’re looking for a job. Startups pay only when they hire someone I introduced.

How do you get my info?

Mostly from what you tell me. I also read public posts where engineers say they’re looking, like Hacker News “Who wants to be hired?”, and may email you once if your post lists an address. Never LinkedIn, never anything behind a login. I share your details with a founder only after you’ve said yes to that specific role. How I handle your data.

Can I DM you on X?

I don’t read DMs. Mention @rokanstark in a post and I’ll see it.

How do I stop it?

Reply “unsubscribe” to any email or message, or text STOP. I’ll stop messaging you and forget what you told me.

What counts as a forward-deployed role?

Engineers who work directly with customers to get a product running in the real world. Titles vary: forward-deployed engineer, deployment engineer, solutions engineer, and a few others. If you’re not sure, ask me.

Tell me what you’re after.

Texting works best from Canada and the US. Anywhere else, use email or X. You can also call me.
